Cookie-cut

*

“Mou! Kousagi is hungry!”

The little girl looked at the chocolate chip cookie batter, beginning to attempt to stir it with such intent. Her blue eyes were large with wonder, as the batter suddenly grew hard to stir, and she let out a sigh, trying to think of what the maid would do next when they cooked, as she continued to stir.

Once her arm began to ache from stirring, she peeked into the bowl, seeing that it was one big blob of, well…dough. She picked up the big blob, and placed it on the counter. Her imagination began to work as she pulled pieces of the dough apart, and began to make them look like little people, attempting to put details into the work. Kousagi smiled as she looked at the cookie-people.

“Now Kousagi needs to put the cookies in the oven, then they’ll go from cookie dough people to cookie people!” She nodded, beginning to put the cookie people on the tray. Once they were all aligned, she looked at the cookie-people in glee, as she climbed down the chair, the tray in her hands, walked over to the oven, opened the oven, and put the cookies in the oven. She closed the oven quickly, and wiped away the sweat.

“The oven’s HOT!” She stated obviously, clearly still young with such a statement. She then went to get a chair, and moved it over to the oven, sitting to watch her cookies bake. She had a rather broad grin on her face as she waited, soon watching the cookies seem to swell up, almost bloated, then a few began to appear to have the chocolate bleed out. Kousagi giggled, waiting for the cookie dough to become cookie people!

The bell suddenly rang, and Kousagi went to get a cloth to pull the cookies out with. Once she had one, she walked back over to the oven, opening it, and reached in, pulling out the cookies, then got on her toes to place them on a table, and went to get the chair to peek up to see.

Her eyes glowed as she saw the cookies in all their deliciousness, ignoring the fact that the cookie people were now just big blobs. She picked them all off, and began to eat them one by one, forgetting that the cookies were once cookie dough people. In the end they were all delicious, and they were cookies!

The reflection of the oven door was now black, a dark figure seemed to have a smirk upon its lips, before vanishing.
