Chapter
7: Defeat
The
three-satellite senshi of Jupiter looked at Makoto, and at Europa, Thebe
letting out a squeak of joy.
“Europa!”
She ran toward the girl and glomped her, “It’s been so long! How’ve you been?
Are you injured? Do you need me to kiss any boo boos?”
Europa
smiled, despite the situation around her, “No, Thebe, it’s okay.”
“Uhm,
excuse me?” Adraeseta
looked at the two, “We have a demon who needs an ass kicking!”
“Oh…right. Reunions later.” Thebe
sighed, and stood up, “Listen up, people of this room! The only ones who can
defeat that demon are the Satellite senshi. You can’t do much because we’re the
ones who can break the barrier. What you can do, though, is defend us, because
if any of us dies, she gets the power!”
The demon stared at them, “You can’t
win.”
“So you think,” Metis grinned, and
created a cat’s cradle with her hands, and shot another Threading Contraction
toward the demon, causing her to be again bound.
“FLAMING PURGATORY!” The flames
charred the demon to a crisp, but the fuku kept respawning. The demon laughed
darkly.
“I cannot die…” She hissed, and
laughed, preparing one large magma attack. The three senshi looked at each
other, now nervous, as the demon’s fuku began to glow.
“I’ll kill you. Each and every one
of you!” She then created an enormous wave of magma that would have decimated
them all.
“TORMENTING
BLIZZARD!" Europa screamed, her ice attack freezing the entire magma wave.
The wave shattered, and Europa grinned, using another Tormenting Blizzard, and
the demon was immediately frozen solid, and after a few moments, arms, legs,
and head broke apart, slowly fading to nothing. The battle was over; and the
demon was dead. Thebe smiled, and jumped up and down, giving Euri a hug. No one
had bothered to watch the demon slowly fade away, and three crystals remain,
though two had gone completely black, the third, an orange and red crystal, was
fading fast.
“Victory
for the Jupiter Satellite Senshi!” Thebe cheered, yet Metis and Adraeseta
looked at each other in dismay. Makoto gradually sat up, and clapped, highly
impressed with the fight.
“We
may have won the battle, but did we win the war?” The two looked to the
headless corpse of Io, watching Shinji stand above it. Quinox walked toward Io,
and kneeled down.
“Step
aside, Shinji, I’ve got a job to do.” Quinox kneeled down, and concentrated,
her crystal glowing, and very slowly Io’s head had reattached to her body, all
the blood vanished, and Io’s color came back to her face, as she opened her
eyes slowly. Shinji seemed to smile, kneel down, and pulled Io into his
embrace. Blinking, the volcanic senshi looked at him out of the corner of her
eye, and slowly returned the embrace.
“…You’re
really warm, Shinji-koi…”
The red crystal shattered.
